El Ranchito Vegas – Interior

El Ranchito Vegas, Las Vegas, NV

Interior Rehabilitation

CLIENT: self

This home was purchased from the original 1950s owner. It had not been upgraded or refreshed in probably about 30 years.

Living Room and the first Gold Glitter Ceiling!

This is the first house where we employed the classic Gold Glitter Sparkle Ceiling and met Jolly Jib.

Family Room SURPRISE!

In the family room enclosed porch, we found that 3 windows were hidden behind paneling!!! This family room was eventually turned into a home tiki bar with Witco inspired shelves.

Main Bath

The original pink and black tile was i great shape so that remained. However, under the new Home depot floor, we found the original 1950s tile. It was too badly damaged, so we put in a sheet linoleum that looked like a 1950s terrazzo pattern.

Master Bedroom

Staged for the classic Vegas feeling. This room was very large, even with a king bed, so we built in a 8 foot long master closet!

Guest Bedroom

A rotted out desk system was in one of the guest bedrooms. behind this we found evidence of an old roof leak and replaced all of the insulation and drywall in this area. What resulted was a nice clean comfortable bedroom.

Bedroom 3 – Office

There was a strange imposition of the closets and a way to walk through the closets between the 2 front bedrooms. We elected to make the bedroom closet a larger closet and the room that seved as the office to be a smaller closet with removable .shelves

Back 1/2 Bath (and former laundry room)

bath1-before bath1-after

The laundry had no proper drain and had rotted the floorboards out. The entire floor had to be replaced. The dryer was also venting lint into this room. We moved the washer and dryer hookups to just outside this wall under the back covered porch.

In another corner of this cramped space was a very claustrophobic tiled in shower stall. We knocked out the secondary door within this room and opened the space up to allow for a nice full bath with tub. We were able to salvage some fancy tile gold accent tile from the old 1950s backsplash and used it in the new tub tile surround. ALSO – this tub grout was gold glitter grout!!!

IN addition, where the laundry used to be, we installed a huge storage closet.

Kitchen

The original kitchen was charming, but they went a bit overboard with the wall paper, which was cool, but totally disgustingly dirty beyond repair.

The End

Finally you get a sense of the entire restoration through this simple before and after shot.
